On this page, you will find all the information you need to become a Volunteer.
What does a Volunteer do?
Our Volunteers are integral to the success of the organisation. At Signpost, we appreciate the importance of working with Volunteers. Our volunteer network is our organisation’s lifeblood, providing invaluable support to our Beneficiaries. By joining our team of Volunteers, you will be directly helping people to improve their lives and reach their goals. Signpost Volunteers significantly impact our Beneficiaries’ lives for the better and we are grateful for their dedication and hard work.Â
Do I need any Qualifications?
Do you have a passion to help others? Are you looking for a way to make a difference? Consider joining our organisation and leveraging your skills and experience to help those in need. Our Beneficiaries have faced difficult experiences, from long-term unemployment to mental and physical health issues. You can bring an understanding, sensitive, and positive approach to help them take control of their destiny. Whether it be technical expertise in teaching, IT, or other areas, professional, leadership, or management experience, or simply life experience, your skills and experience can help make a difference.
What's in it for Me?
Volunteering offers more than just a selfless way to give back to the community, it’s also a great opportunity to gain valuable skills, add to your CV and even receive references. Not to mention, there are plenty of intangible benefits such as routine, structure, social contact, and meaningful activity. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs explains this well. Plus, you won’t have to dip into your pocket as volunteers are usually reimbursed for mileage and expenses.
