Signpost has worked to support people in deprived communities across Essex for over 30 years. In that time we have developed a methodology that uses Empowerment as a Mechanism for Change.

This Empowerment-driven, Client-centred way of working has evolved over many years and we have found it to be most effective with alienated populations. Outcomes achieved this way tend to be more sustainable

The outcomes achieved via this methodology are more sustainable: people will fight to stay in a job they have ‘achieved.’ It can also trigger or contribute to real and lasting change in a person’s development. Our beneficiaries also prefer this method, leading to good engagement and attendance rates.
